Foruminvest Amstelveen B.V. has been awarded an irrevocable construction permit for the development of a residential tower block located at the intersection of Beneluxbaan and Rembrandtweg in Amstelveen. The demolition of the existing office building is scheduled to begin in the first week of September. The project consists of an 18-storey residential building with 276 apartments, over 80% of which will be in the mid-rental segment. The current outdated office building will be demolished. Due to its favourable location close to public transport (tram), future residents will be able to reach the Stadshart shopping centre and Zuidas areas within approximately seven minutes. Future residents will also have access to electric shared cars. The project has devoted a great deal of attention to creating a healthy and sustainable living environment. All apartments will feature a high-quality finish. Furthermore, each unit will have its own balcony, including the smaller apartments. The building will be equipped with a geothermal heat pump system, solar panels, and high-quality insulation combined with CO2-controlled ventilation. All apartments will also have a high-efficiency heat recovery system (HRV) and a separate shower HRV. LED lighting will be installed in the common areas. The former parking area will be transformed into green space, and the building will have a three-storey underground parking garage. A water retention system will be implemented at ground level to minimise rainwater-related issues. Heddes Bouw & Ontwikkeling has been contracted as the contractor. ABN AMRO is involved as the project financier. Foruminvest received legal support from the Lexence law firm. The design is by architectural firm OZ and Forum Concept & Design, Foruminvest’s in-house design bureau.
