Foruminvest has acquired the Glashaven office building, located on the vibrant Wijnhaven Island in the heart of Rotterdam, and is transforming it into a sustainable 4-star hotel. The building, covering approximately 9,000 m², will be redeveloped into over 225 high-quality hotel rooms, with a focus on contemporary and functional design.The ground floor will feature a restaurant and a library with workspaces, welcoming both hotel guests and local residents. The existing building, currently rated with energy label E, will be transformed into a sustainable hotel aiming for a BREEAM Excellent certification. Foruminvest is committed to meeting the ‘Paris Proof’ standards for 2045 by the time of opening, ensuring an optimal balance between cost, CO2 reduction, and enhanced comfort.
The hotel will be operated by Ruby Hotels, a leading hotel group known for its emphasis on modern design and functionality. This will be the first Ruby Hotel in Rotterdam, with the architecture being designed by Studio Klinker and the renowned STUDIO HUGO responsible for the interior. The result will be a seamless blend of contemporary design and comfort.
